Most also said they respond to between 25,000 – 75,000 calls each year. Approximately 62% of respondents said their systems can properly audit and analyze emergency response metrics, but 38% said they could not provide this accurate measure of analytics.    Of those respondents who said they are analyzing data, the majority (40%) said they are conducting this analysis on a daily basis; and 31% said hourly analysis followed by 11% for monthly. Another 44% said they are analyzing the data within their own department; 28% said they work with city officials to review; 20% said they work with an outside data agency that provides analysis and observations.       **Local Officials Planning To Upgrade Systems in 2023**  The issue many emergency management officials and agencies have is that 29% of respondents are unsure of the accuracy of the data their systems are providing, and another 23% said they are actually looking into other data collection options because of inconsistencies. Furthermore, roughly two-thirds (67%) of officials said they are possibly planning to revisit and/or replace the systems they are using in 2023.    “When it comes to emergency management and preemption technology, data analysis and information confidence is everything,” said **Tim Menard, CEO and founder of LYT**. “In our meetings with emergency management and city officials they are constantly asking how to improve the accuracy of the data their existing providers offer. Many of these departments are unsure simply because the data is owned by their service provider and the officials want to have more authority over their own data collection.”    Today’s data-sharing platforms have been proven to be highly effective, but only when cities and municipalities that oversee transportation and emergency preemption systems make them open for proper data sharing. Many municipalities remain locked into contracts with smart-traffic solution providers who are unwilling to operate under an open, cloud-based data platform, and these cities severely restrict themselves from the true possibilities that these platforms provide.
