This pilot addressed key challenges in Boston’s transit system, including interoperability with customized ATMS systems, adapting to new technology, and improving efficiency in a historic, increasingly populous area. Previous TSP solutions lacked insight into proven functionality, but LYT delivered measurable success with its innovative solutions.   **LYT.transit was deployed across three critical intersections: **  Brighton Avenue & Allston Street   Brighton Avenue & Harvard Avenue   Brighton Avenue & Linden Street   ### **Impact Highlights:  ** - 21% reduction in daily red light delays, saving over an hour of travel time daily   - 27% faster travel times during peak hours   - Over 200 gallons of fuel saved per month   - 2 metric tons of CO2 saved per month   - 385 daily trips prioritized, benefiting 15,000 daily riders ### **Proving the Value of TSP** LYT.transit proved transit signal priority could seamlessly integrate with Boston’s customized systems, providing citywide optimized green lights and real-time performance metrics. This pilot set the stage for a scalable solution, allowing Boston to expand TSP to more intersections without requiring new equipment at every location.     ### **What Leaders Are Saying** > As MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng noted, “This will add to the reliability benefits already felt by riders on Routes 57 and 66 every day, improve bus service for the community, and bring riders to their destinations more quickly.”    ### **Supporting Transit Operators** Beyond rider benefits, bus drivers gained from improved on-time performance, ensuring better breaks and layover management.
